The actor was up for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association award for Best Actor in a Drama Motion Picture, but was beaten to the trophy by Elvis star Austin Butler.

Fraser refused to attend the event in 2003 after the organization's former president, Philip Burke, was accused of stalking her.
