Why was it banned
A Twitter user GodYamrajOP had earlier this month filed an RTI seeking information from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) about the Battleground Mobile India (BGMI) ban. There were two questions in this application, one was the reason for the removal of BGMI from the official store and the other was whether the officials of Crafton had a meeting with the government? Feedback from MeitY is now officially available to the community. The official confirmed that BGMI has been banned under Section 69A. The Government of India also confirmed that they have held meetings with the Crafton Officer. However it cannot be disclosed, as Rule 16 of the Information Technology Rules 2019 requires strict confidentiality regarding such matters. Meanwhile, gaming enthusiasts think that BGMI will definitely make a comeback, but the date is not yet known. So let’s see what happens in the coming days.
